MAINTENANCE AND LUBRICATION Adjustments Wheel Removal Procedure 1. Stop the engine, place the transmission in gear and lock the parking brake. 2. Loosen the wheel nuts slightly. 3. Elevate the side of the vehicle by placing a suitable stand under the footrest frame. 4. Remove the wheel nuts and remove the wheel. Wheel Installation 1. With the transmission in gear and the parking brake locked, place the wheel in the correct position on the wheel hub. Be sure the valve stem is toward the outside and rotation arrows on the tire point toward forward rotation. 2. Attach the wheel nuts and finTapered side ger tighten them. of nut goes in 3. Lower the vehicle to the ground. Rear Wheel Assembly 4. Securely tighten the wheel nuts to the following torque: S Torque center and rear wheel nuts to 50 ft. lbs. (6.9 kg/m). S Torque front wheel nuts to 20 ft. lbs. (2.1 kg/m). CAUTION If wheels are improperly installed it could affect vehicle handling and tire wear. Make sure the tapered end of the rear wheel nut goes into the taper on the wheel. 95

4. Removethewheelnutsandremovethewheel.
WheelInstallation
1. Withthetransmissioningear
andtheparkingbrakelocked,
placethewheelinthecorrect
positiononthewheelhub.Be
surethevalvestemistoward
the outside and rotation ar-
rowsonthetirepointtoward
forwardrotation.
2. Attachthewheelnutsandfin-
gertightenthem.
3. Lower the vehicle to the
ground.
4. Securely tighten the wheel
nutstothefollowingtorque:

Torquecenterandrearwheelnutsto50ft.lbs.(6.9kg/m).

Torquefrontwheelnutsto20ft.lbs.(2.1kg/m).

CAUTION
Ifwheelsareimproperlyinstalleditcouldaffectvehiclehandlingand
tirewear. Makesurethetaperedendoftherearwheelnutgoesinto
thetaperonthewheel.
