TROUBLESHOOTING Engine Doesn't Turn Over Possible Cause Blown fuse Low battery voltage Loose battery connections Loose solenoid connections Solution Replace fuse Recharge battery to 12.5 VDC Check all connections and tighten Check all connections and tighten Engine Turns Over, Fails to Start Possible Cause Out of fuel Clogged fuel valve or filter Water is present in fuel Fuel valve is turned off Old or non-recommended fuel Fouled or defective spark plug(s) No spark to spark plug Crankcase filled with water or fuel Overuse of choke Clogged fuel filter Low battery voltage Mechanical failure Solution Refuel Inspect and clean or replace Drain the fuel system and refuel Turn the fuel valve on Replace with new fuel Inspect plug(s), replace if necessary Inspect plug(s), verify stop switch is on Immediately see your Polaris dealer Inspect, clean and/or replace spark plugs Replace the filter Recharge battery to 12.5 VDC See your Polaris dealer Engine Pings or Knocks Possible Cause Poor quality or low octane fuel Incorrect ignition timing Incorrect spark plug gap or heat range Idle set too low Solution Replace with recommended fuel See your Polaris dealer Set gap to specs or replace plugs Adjust idle speed 113
