INSTRUMENT PANEL SOUND BUTTON SCROLL ORDER When you repeatedly press the SOUND button, the functions will scroll in the following order: BASS, TRE, BAL, FADE, EQ OFF, and VOL. SOUND button (6): Setting the Tone (Bass/Treble) Press the SOUND button until "BAS" appears on the display. Turn the volume knob to increase or to decrease the bass. The display will show the bass level. When finished making the selection, press the SOUND button to select the bass level. Press the SOUND button until "TRE" appears on the display. Turn the volume knob to increase or to decrease the treble. The display will show the treble level. When finished making the selection, press the SOUND button to select the treble level. If a station is weak or noisy, decrease the treble. Adjusting the Speakers (Balance/Fade) To adjust the balance between the right and the left speakers, press the SOUND button until "BAL" appears on the display. Turn the volume knob to shift the balance between the right and left speakers. The display will show the balance level. When finished making the selection, press the SOUND button to select the balance level. To adjust the fade between the front and the rear speakers, press the SOUND button until "FAD" appears on the display. Turn the volume knob to shift the balance between the front and the rear speakers. The display will show the fade level. When finished making the selection, press the SOUND button to select the fade level. Setting the Equalization The scroll order for the customized equalization settings is EQ OFF, CLASSIC, DANCE, ROCK, JAZZ, POP, VOICE, TECHNO, EQ OFF. Press the SOUND button until "EQ OFF" appears on the display to select customized equalization settings designed for classic, dance, rock, jazz, pop, voice and techno music. Turn the volume knob until the desired equalization setting appears on the display. When finished making the selection, press the SOUND button to select the equalization setting. To cancel an equalization setting, press the SOUND button until "EQ OFF" appears on the display, turn the volume knob until "OFF" appears on the display, then press the SOUND button again. PLAYING A TAPE Insert a tape into the tape insert hole (7). You can see the message "LOAD" and "PLAY". 1 DIR button (5): Press this button to active the DOLBY function. The purpose of the DOLBY function is to delete tape noise. 2 RPT (Repeat) button (5): Press this button to repeat the current track. "RPT" will appear on the display. Press this button again to turn off repeat play. TUNE button (3): Press the down arrows to go to rewind to the first track on the current side of the tape. "REW" will appear on the display. When the tape is fully rewound, it is played back from the beginning of the same side. To stop the rewind movement, press the TAPE button (8) or the down arrows button or the repeat button (5). The repeat button (5) is effective to only the case when the repeat function is not active. Press the up arrows to advance to the first track on the opposite side of the tape. "FF" will appear on the display. When the tape reaches the end, it is automatically reversed and played back from the beginning of the opposite side.
