Setting the BASS ENGINE Type You can set your favorite BASS ENGINE type. Setting contents: Standard (Initial setting) / Punch / Rich / Mid Bass / Low Bass Standard: Natural low-pitched sound located in front of front seats. Punch: Punched bass sound, massive, with a feeling of speed. Rich: You can feel wrapped with rich Low-pitched sound by arranging super-low-pass, low-pass, and mid lowpass, with sufficient balance. Mid Bass: Emphasizes the presence of an upper bass. Reproduces low-pass with a sense of speed. Low Bass: Super-low-pass presence and a low-pitched sound which is oriented downwards with deep feeling. • The function is disabled when BASS ENGINE SQ is set to "Off." Adjusting the BASS ENGINE Level You can adjust the BASS ENGINE Level. Setting item: Level Setting contents: 0 to 6 (Initial setting: 3) • The function is disabled when BASS ENGINE SQ is set to "Off." • The Level 0 of the BASS ENGINE SQ is common to all the types. About Setup when the external power amplifier is connected In order to optimize the BASS ENGINE SQ, we recommend the following procedure to set up the power amplifier. After setting up, the BASS ENGINE Level will be adjusted according to the music. 1) Set GAIN of the power amplifier to "MIN." 2) Set the Crossover Mode Sector switch to "OFF." • If the switch has no "OFF" position, set as near as possible to full range. 3) Set the BASS ENGINE SQ of this unit to "ON," and the BASS ENGINE Level to "3." 4) Play a song of the genre you frequently listen to, and adjust GAIN of the power amplifier. Adjusting the Fader/Balance 1 Touch [Fader/Balance]. The Fader/Balance setting screen is displayed. Adjusting the Time Correction (TCR) [TCR] is selected on the Sound setup menu in step 3. Refer to "Sound Setup Operation" (page 34). Before performing the following procedures, refer to "About Time Correction" (page 40). Setting item: TCR (Time Correction) 1 Touch [ms] or [cm] to select mode for making adjustments. Each time you touch, the onscreen button and correction mode changes. Correction mode ms: Adjust time. cm: Adjust listening position and distance from each speaker. 2 Touch [ ] or [ ] for each speaker to adjust the time or distance. 0.0msec to 9.9msec (0.1msec/step) 0.0cm to 336.6cm (3.4cm/step) All speaker setting values are adjustable in the range of 15ms or 510cm. 3 To store the adjusted setting value, touch and hold [Preset1], [Preset2], or [Preset3] for at least 2 seconds. • Touch [Flat] to set all values to 0.0. • If the Rear Speaker setting is "Off," the Rear Speaker setting cannot be edited (Refer to page 39). • If the Subwoofer setting is "Off," the Subwoofer setting cannot be edited (Refer to page 39). Calling the Time Correction Value Calling the pre-set time correction value. Touch [Preset1], [Preset2], or [Preset3] on the time correction screen. The setting stored in the Preset will be recalled. Image area * 2 Touch the desired point within the image area. Or touch Fader: F15 to R15 Balance: L15 to R15 * Touch to return the Fader/Balance value to "00" (center). 37-EN
