A7S8X-MX DIMM1 DIMM2 80 Pins 104 Pins 1.7 System memory 1.7.1 Overview The motherboard comes with two Double Data Rate (DDR) Dual Inline Memory Module (DIMM) sockets. These sockets support up to 2 GB system memory using 184-pin PC2700/PC2100 unbuffered DDR DIMMs and allow up to 2.7 GB/s data transfer rate. The following figure illustrates the location of the DDR DIMM sockets. ® A7S8X-MX 184-pin DDR DIMM sockets 1.7.2 Memory Configurations You may install 64 MB, 128 MB, 256 MB, 512 MB and 1 GB unbuffered non-ECC DDR DIMMs into the DIMM sockets using the memory configurations in this section. • Installing DDR DIMMs other than the recommended configurations may cause memory sizing error or system boot failure. Use any of the recommended configurations in the table on the next page. • Always install DIMMs with the same CAS latency.
