32 Bit I/O: [Enabled] When enabled, this option speeds up communication between the CPU and the IDE controller. This option supports PCI local bus only. ISA bus is not supported. The configuration options are: [Disabled] [Enabled] Transfer Mode: (auto-detect or user defined) When enabled, this option speeds up communication between the system and the IDE controller by using enhanced I/O transfer modes (PIO Modes). NOTE: To make changes to this field, the Type field must be set to User. The configuration options are: [Standard] [Fast PIO 1] [Fast PIO 2] [Fast PIO 3] [Fast PIO 4] Ultra DMA Mode: (auto-detect or user defined) This field auto detects Ultra DMA capability (for improved transfer speeds and data integrity) for compatible IDE devices. Set to Disable to suppress Ultra DMA capability. NOTE: To make changes to this field, the Type field must be set to User. The configuration options are: [Disabled] [Mode 0] [Mode 1] [Mode 2] NOTE: After using the legend keys to make your selections on this sub-menu, press the [Esc] key to exit back to the Main menu. When the Main menu appears, you will notice that the drive size appear in the field for the hard disk drive that you just configured. IDE Primary Slave Menu Details In this field, indicate the size of the disk drive or the device type, such as a CD-ROM drive. The arrow head icon indicates that this field contains a sub-menu. The sub-menu is used to configure the IDE Hard Disk installed in the system. To configure a hard disk drive, move the cursor to highlight the IDE Primary Slave field, and press [Enter]. The following sub-menu screen will appear. The fields and options on this sub-menu are the same as the previous menu described earlier. Set the type as CD-ROM in this field to support an inserted CD-ROM or DVD drive module.
