Chapter 2 BIOS Setup 2.7 PnP/PCI Configurations This section describes configuring the PCI bus system. PCI, or Personal Computer Interconnect, is a system which allows I/O devices to operate at speeds nearing the speed of the CPU itself uses when communicating with its own special components. This section covers some very technical items and it is strongly recommended that only experienced users should make any changes to the default settings. Figure 7. PnP/PCI Configurations PNP OS Installed When set to "Yes", BIOS will only initialize the PnP cards used for booting (VGA, IDE, SCSI). The rest of the cards will be initialized by the PnP operating systems, like WindowsTM95. When set to " No" , BIOS will initialized all the PnP cards. Therefore for non-PnP operating system (DOS, NetwareTM), this option must set to " No". The Choices: No (default),Yes. 2-26
