Switching off • Release the trigger switch (8). S WARNING: Never attempt to lock the switch in the on position. attaching extension cord to pole An extension cord retainer (14) is built into the extension pole switch handle. This prevents the extension cord from accidentally coming unplugged. • Double the extension cord about 10 inches from the plug end so that it forms a loop. Insert the loop into the cord slot (29) located on bottom of the pole switch handle as shown in figure Q. • Hook the loop over the cord retainer (14) as shown in figure R. Gently tug on the cord to ensure that it is firmly retained in the handle. • Plug the receptacle end of the extension cord into the pole power cord (10) of the extension pole. Q • When cutting long grass, work in stages from the top. Take small cuts. • Keep the tool away from hard objects and delicate plants. • If the tool starts running slowly, reduce the load. • To make a closer cut, pivot the tool basket to its maximum position. • Spray the blade with a light coating of general purpose oil before first use and whenever the blades begin to look dry. 29 Pole Trimming Shrubs WARNING: Blades coast after turn off. Do not operate tool in a
position where you cannot see the entire blade.
With its pivoting design the shrubber can be
used to trim and shape hard to reach areas
of shrubs and bushes such as those shown in
figure T
.
• Adjust the pole length and pivot the tool
basket to achieve optimum cutting results.
• Slightly tilt the shrubber blade (up to 15°
relative to the line of cut) so that the blade
tips point slightly towards the shrub as
shown in
figure N.
This will cause the
blades to cut more effectively.
SWITCHING OFF

CORD TO POLE
An extension cord retainer (14) is built
into the extension pole switch handle.
This prevents the extension cord from
