Useful Functions Functions useful in improving sewing efficiency are described below. Automatically sewing reverse/ reinforcement stitches Position the fabric under the presser foot, and d then press (Start/stop button) once. The sewing machine can be set to automatically sew reverse or reinforcement stitches at the beginning and end of the stitching. Depending on the selected stitch, 2 reverse stitches or reinforcement stitches are automatically set. For details on reverse/ reinforcement stitching, refer to "Stitch Setting Chart" (page 70). a Turn on the machine. a a Start/stop button X Stitching starts after reverse stitching or reinforcement stitching. X The LCD comes on. Select a stitch. b • For details on selecting a stitch, refer to "Selecting stitching" (page 49). Press on the LCD. c After reaching the end of the stitching, press e (Reverse/reinforcement stitch button) once. If stitching, such as buttonholes and bar tacking, that includes reinforcement stitching has been selected, this operation is unnecessary. X It turns to , and the sewing machine is set for automatic reverse/reinforcement stitching. a a Reverse/reinforcement stitch button X After reverse/reinforcement stitches are sewn, the sewing machine stops. Memo z To turn automatic reverse/reinforcement stitching off, press . z When the sewing machine is turned off, the automatic reverse/reinforcement stitching setting is cancelled. z When the stitch such as those for sewing buttonholes and bar tacks is selected, reinforcement stitches are automatically sewn.
