The documents should each be between 5.8 and 8.5 inches (148 and 216 mm) wide and between 3.9 and 35.4 inches (100 and 900 mm) long. The maximum width of the scanned area, that can be printed on the recording paper of the recipient's fax, is 8.2 inches (208 mm). How to Insert the Document To send a fax, first insert the document you wish to send, face down, in the document feeder. The top edge of the document should go in first, or the fax will be received upside down. To prevent the document from skewing as it is fed, adjust the paper guides to fit the width of the document.
