Otherwise, the thread could tangle and break the needle. IMPORTANT: 1 Raise the presser foot using the presser foot lever. 1 1 Presser foot lever Raise the needle to its highest position by 2 turning the handwheel toward you (counterclockwise) so that the mark on the handwheel points directly up. • If the needle is not correctly raised, the sewing machine can not be threaded. Be sure to turn the handwheel so that the mark on the wheel points up before threading the sewing machine. Pull up the spool pin and put a spool of thread 3 on this pin. CAUTION ● If the spool of thread is in the wrong place, or is set incorrectly, the thread may tangle on the spool pin and cause the needle to break. Feed the upper thread as shown in the 4 illustration above. Pass the thread through both thread guides: the back one first, and then the front one. IMPORTANT:
Raise the presser foot using the presser foot
lever.

Raise the needle to its highest position by
turning the handwheel toward you
(counterclockwise) so that the mark on the
handwheel points directly up.
• If the needle is not correctly raised, the
sewing machine can not be threaded.
Be sure to turn the handwheel so that
the mark on the wheel points up before
threading the sewing machine.

Pull up the spool pin and put a spool of thread
on this pin.

Feed the upper thread as shown in the
illustration above. Pass the thread through
both thread guides: the back one first, and
then the front one.

Make sure you guide the thread through the
thread take-up lever from right to left.
