Using the ND Filter The brightness can be decreased by setting the ND filter on. This allows you to select a smaller aperture and a slower shutter speed than usual. 1 Press the button to turn on the LCD monitor. 2 Select [ND Filter] in the [ (Rec.)] menu. • See Selecting Menus and Settings (p. 42). 3 Select [On] and press the button. • appears on the Display Panel. also appears on the LCD monitor if it is on. • Always use a tripod to prevent camera shake in this mode. • Some settings are not available with certain Shooting modes. Please refer to Functions Available in Each Shooting Mode (p. 204). • Standard brightness is decreased to approximately 1/8 when the ND filter is on. For example, if the appropriate aperture value is 5.6, it becomes 2 when the ND filter is on. 110
