3 Start Print Head Cleaning. Printing Maintenance (1) Select Cleaning from the pop-up menu. (2) Click Cleaning. (3) Select the ink nozzles to be cleaned, and then click OK. Important Do not perform any other operations until the print head cleaning finishes. This takes about 60 seconds. 4 Print the nozzle check pattern to verify that the print head nozzles are clean. When print head cleaning finishes, the confirmation message is displayed. (1) Click OK. The nozzle check pattern will be printed. (2) Examine the nozzle check pattern. See "Examining the Nozzle Check Pattern" on page 40. You can see a normal pattern and an irregular pattern in a color by clicking Pattern Analysis. (3) If the patterns are printed properly, click OK to end the operation. If the patterns are not printed properly, click Cleaning to start print head cleaning again. Note If the problem remains after performing print head cleaning three times, try print head deep cleaning. 43
