Adjusting the Focus Still Images Automatically adjust the focus to suit starry skies. Movies 1 Choose a shooting mode. zzChoose [ ] (=66), [ ] (=67), or [ ] (=68). 2 Secure the camera. zzMount the camera on a tripod or take other measures to keep it still. 3 Frame the stars to capture. zzPress the [ ] button, choose [ ] (either press the [ ][ ] buttons or turn the [ ] dial), and then press the [ ] button. zzPress the [ ] button. zzTilt the camera so that the stars to capture are inside the frame displayed. 4 Adjust the focus. zzPress the [ ] button. [Adjusting star focus] is displayed, and adjustment begins. zzAdjustment may take about 20 seconds. Do not move the camera until [Adjustment completed] is displayed. zzPress the [ ] button. 5 Shoot (=66, =67, =68). ●● The focus may not be adjusted under the following conditions. In this case, try again from step 3. -- There is a bright light source -- Airplanes or other light sources or clouds crossed the sky ●● If adjustment fails, focus returns to the original position.
