G Shooting in Program AE You can select the settings for various functions to suit your preferences. AE stands for Auto Exposure. Set the mode dial to G (p. 42). Adjust the settings according to your purposes (pp. 70 - 80). Shoot. What if the shutter speed and aperture value are displayed in red? If a correct exposure cannot be obtained when pressing the shutter button halfway, the shutter speed and aperture value display in red. Try the following settings to obtain the correct exposure. • Turn on the flash (p. 70) • Select a higher ISO speed (p. 74) h Turning the Flash On You can make the flash fire every time you shoot. At maximum wide angle, the flash range is approximately 50 cm - 3.0 m (1.6 - 9.8 ft.), and at maximum telephoto, it is 1.0 - 2.0 m (3.3 - 6.6 ft.) Select h. ● After pressing the r button, press the qr buttons or turn the  dial to select h, then press the m button. X Once set, h will appear. If you take multiple shots with the flash, the flash may become warm. This is not a malfunction. 70
