Chapter 2 Switch Installation Connecting StackWise Cable to StackWise Ports Note Always use a Cisco-approved StackWise cable to connect the switches. Figure 2-44 Inserting the StackWise Cable in a StackWise Port STACK 1 STACK 2 CONSOLE 132362 Step 3 Use the window in the StackWise cable to align the connector correctly. Secure the screws tightly. Step 4 Insert the other end of the cable into the connector of the other switch, and secure the screws tightly. Caution Removing and installing the StackWise cable can shorten its useful life. Do not remove and insert the cable more often than is absolutely necessary. Replace the dust covers on the connectors to protect them from dust when you are not using them. When you need to remove the StackWise cable from the connector, make sure to fully unscrew the screws before removing the connector.
