DGS-3630 Series Layer 3 Stackable Managed Switch Web UI Reference Guide To view the following window, click Tools > Ping, as shown below: Figure 11-36 Ping Window The fields that can be configured in IPv4 Ping are described below: Parameter Target IPv4 Address Ping Times Timeout Length ToS Stop Time Description Select and enter an IP address to be pinged. Enter the number of times desired to attempt to Ping the IPv4 address configured in this window. Users may enter a number of times between 1 and 255. Tick the Infinite check box to keep sending ICMP Echo packets to the specified IP address until the program is stopped. Select a timeout period between 1 and 99 seconds for this Ping message to reach its destination. If the packet fails to find the IP address in this specified time, the Ping packet will be dropped. Enter the length value here. This specifies the number of data bytes to send. The default value is 56, which translates into 64 ICMP data bytes when combined with the 8 bytes of ICMP header data. It does not include any VLAN or IEEE 802.1Q tag length. The range is from 1 to 1420 bytes. Enter the ToS value here. This is used to configure the QoS on ICMP datagrams. The range is from 0 to 255. Enter the stop time value here. This specifies to stop the ping after the amount of times entered here. If this value is configured as 0, then the ping can only be stopped by clicking the Stop button manually. The range is from 0 to 99. Click the Start button to initiate the Ping Test for each individual section. Enter the number of times desired to attempt to Ping the IPv6 address configured in this window. Users may enter a number of times between 1 and 255. Tick the Infinite check box to keep sending ICMPv6 Echo packets to the specified IPv6 address until the program is stopped. Select a timeout period between 1 and 99 seconds for this Ping message to reach its destination.
