Site Requirements The PowerConnect 2708/2716/2724/2748 devices can be mounted in a standard equipment rack, placed on a tabletop, or mounted on the wall. Before installing the unit, verify that the site selected for the device meets the following site requirements: • Power - The device is installed within 1.5 m (5 feet) of a grounded, easily accessible outlet 220/110 VAC, 50/60 Hz. If the device has two power supplies, the site should have two power outlets with different power feeders. • General - Ensure that the power supply is correctly installed. • Clearance - There is adequate frontal clearance for operator access. Allow clearance for cabling, power connections, and ventilation. • Cabling - Cabling is routed to avoid sources of electrical noise such as radio transmitters, broadcast amplifiers, power lines, and fluorescent lighting fixtures. • Ambient Requirements - The ambient unit operating temperature range is 0 to 45C (32 to 113F) at a relative humidity of up to 95%, non-condensing. Verify that water or moisture cannot enter the device case. Unpacking NOTE: Before unpacking the device, inspect the packaging and report any evidence of damage immediately to Dell.
