sFlow 39 This is useful in cases where an sFlow collector does not recognize Tag Type 1991. In these situations, the Tag Type 1991 samples can be ignored without disrupting the sFlow sequence numbers. It is also useful for indentifying samples obtained using ACL-based sFlow that you might want to perform other processes. Detail of Foundry Proprietary Record Tag Type Length 1991 Flags: Group ID: Length includes Foundry Proprietary Tag Type 1991 and Encapsulated sFlow records Tag Type 1 Length Sequence # 1 Encapsulated sFlow sample record Length for Encapsulated sFlow samples only include current Seq record Flag Values: 0x00000001 = First packet of a flow 0x00000002 = ACL-triggered sample 0x00000004 = CPU-handled packet 0x00000008 = Not counted by interface sampler Group ID: An arbitrary id used for grouping samples Configuring ACL-based inbound sFlow The followings sections describe how to configure ACL-based Inbound sFlow: • "Configuration considerations for ACL-based inbound sFlow" • "Creating an ACL with an sFlow clause" • "Specifying an sFlow collector" Configuration considerations for ACL-based inbound sFlow Consider the following when you configure ACL-based inbound sFlow: • sFlow must be enabled on the router. • ACL-based mirroring: The mirror and copy-sflow keywords are mutually exclusive on a per ACL clause basis. • Port-based monitoring: Port-based monitoring and ACL-based sFlow can co-exist on the same interface. • Port-based sFlow: Port and ACL-based sFlow can co-exist on the same interface. When both features are configured on an interface, packets that qualify as ACL-based sFlow packets are sent to the collector as ACL sample packets. sFlow

This is useful in cases where an sFlow collector does not recognize Tag Type 1991. In these

situations, the Tag Type 1991 samples can be ignored without disrupting the sFlow sequence

numbers. It is also useful for indentifying samples obtained using ACL-based sFlow that you might

want to perform other processes.

Configuration considerations for ACL-based inbound sFlow

Consider the following when you configure ACL-based inbound sFlow:

•

sFlow must be enabled on the router.

•

ACL-based mirroring

: The

mirror

and

copy-sflow

keywords are mutually exclusive on a per ACL

clause basis.

•

Port-based monitoring

: Port-based monitoring and ACL-based sFlow can co-exist on the same

interface.

•

Port-based sFlow

: Port and ACL-based sFlow can co-exist on the same interface. When both

features are configured on an interface, packets that qualify as ACL-based sFlow packets are

sent to the collector as ACL sample packets. Also, the user can configure ACL-based sFlow on

an interface without configuring port-based sFlow.
