System Error Messages Table 3-2 lists (in alphabetical order) system error messages that can appear on the monitor screen. These messages can help you find the source of a problem. Some of these error messages indicate fatal errors. When a fatal error occurs, the system cannot usually be rebooted until an appropriate hardware change has been made. Table 3-2. System Error Messages Message Definition Probable Causes EISA configuration error The EISA configuration data in NVRAM does not match the installed EISA expansion cards. Be sure the EISA expansion cards are properly seated; then run the EISA configuration utility. EISA configuration NVRAM bad The EISA jumper may have been accidentally installed. Be sure the EISA jumper is removed; then reboot the system, and restore the EISA configuration. Embedded There is an error in the server manage- embedded server man- ment error agement subsystem. Communication error in ESM module. Embedded server management firmware download failed The BIOS is attempting to download embedded server management firmware. Download of ESM firmware timed out. Expansion ROM not initialized Incorrect drive A type - Run Setup Incorrect drive B type - Run Setup Invalid CPU speed detected Check jumpers The BIOS detected a resource conflict while configuring a Plug and Play ISA or PCI expansion card. The diskette drive does not match the diskette drive type stored in the configuration data. The diskette drive does not match the diskette drive type stored in the configuration data.
