Installing the Fan Controller Board CAUTION: Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. You should only perform troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in your product documentation, or as directed by the online or telephone service and support team. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized is not covered by warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that came with the product. Position the new fan controller board on top of the fan controller board tray, aligning the holes on the board to the screw holes on the tray. See Figure 3-15. NOTE: If you are installing a new fan controller board, prior to upgrading your system, download and install the latest fan controller board firmware version from support.dell.com. Follow the instructions included in the file download to install the update on your system. 1 Replace the four screws securing the fan controller board to its tray. See Figure 3-15. 2 Insert the fan controller board assembly into its enclosure bay. 3 Secure the fan controller board assembly to the enclosure with the two thumbscrews. Installing the Fan Controller Board

Position the new fan controller board on top of the fan controller board tray,
aligning the holes on the board to the screw holes on the tray. See Figure 3-15.
NOTE:
If you are installing a new fan controller board, prior to upgrading your
system, download and install the latest fan controller board firmware version from
support.dell.com
. Follow the instructions included in the file download to install the
update on your system.
