Configuring L2 and L3 Relay Features (CLI) This section provides information about the commands you use to configure L2 and L3 relay features on the switch. For more information about the commands, see the PowerConnect M6220/M6348/M8024/M8024-k CLI Reference Guide at support.dell.com/manuals. Configuring L2 DHCP Relay Beginning in Privileged EXEC mode, use the following commands to configure switch and interface L2 DHCP relay settings. Command configure dhcp l2relay interface interface dhcp l2relay dhcp l2relay trust exit dhcp l2relay vlan vlanrange dhcp l2relay circuit-id vlan vlan-range Purpose Enter global configuration mode. Globally enable L2 DHCP relay on the switch Enter interface configuration mode for the specified port or LAG. The interface variable includes the interface type and number, for example gigabitethernet 1/0/3. For a LAG, the interface type is port-channel. You can also specify a range of ports with the interface range command, for example, interface range gigabitethernet 1/0/8-12 configures interfaces 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12. Enable L2 DHCP relay on the port(s) or LAG(s). Configure the interface(s) to mandate Option-82 on receiving DHCP packets. Exit to Global Configuration mode. Enable the L2 DHCP Relay agent for a set of VLANs. All DHCP packets which arrive on interfaces in the configured VLAN are subject to L2 Relay processing. Enable setting the DHCP Option 82 Circuit ID for a VLAN. When enabled, the interface number is added as the Circuit ID in DHCP option 82. Configuring L2 and L3 Relay Features 937
