Prerequisites Follow the instructions from step 1 to step 7 in "Removing the Base Cover" on page 11. Procedure 1 Disconnect the battery cable from the system board. 2 Remove the screws that secure the battery to the palm-rest assembly. 3 Lift the battery off the palm-rest assembly. 4 Turn the computer over and open the display as far as possible. 3 1 2 1 battery 3 battery cable 2 screws (6) 5 Press and hold the power button for about 5 seconds to ground the system board. Prerequisites
Follow the instructions from step 1 to step 7 in "Removing the Base Cover" on page 11.
Procedure

Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.± ±

Remove the screws that secure the battery to the palm-rest assembly.± ±
3
Lift the battery off the palm-rest assembly.± ±
4
Turn the computer over and open the display as far as possible.± ±
