Prerequisites 1 Follow the instructions from step 1 to step 7 in "Removing the Base Cover" on page 11. 2 Remove the battery. See "Removing the Battery" on page 21. Prerequisites

Follow the instructions from step 1 to step 7 in "Removing the Base Cover" on ±

Remove the battery. See "Removing the Battery" on page 21.± ±
Procedure
1
Lift the connector latch and, using the pull-tab, disconnect the optical-drive cable
from the system board.
2
Peel the optical-drive cable from the fan.
3
Disconnect the fan cable from the system board.
4
Remove the screw that secures the fan to the palm-rest assembly.
5
Lift the fan, along with its cable, away from the palm-rest assembly.
