Peel the optical-drive cable from the fan.

Remove the coin-cell-battery cable from the routing guides on the
optical-drive bracket.

Remove the screw that secures the optical-drive assembly to the palm-rest assembly.

Lift the optical-drive assembly at an angle and release it from the tab on the
palm-rest assembly.
