ENGLISH Audio Setting Settings for audio output are made. Audio Output Default settings are underlined. Setting items Setting details Coaxial For selecting the format output from the digital audio output terminals. Bitstream : For selecting if the device connected to the unit supports Dolby Digital or DTS Digital Surround. PCM : For selecting when the device connected to the unit does not support Dolby Digital or DTS Digital Surround. Off : For outputting no audio signal from the digital audio output terminal of the unit. HDMI For selecting the format output from the HDMI output terminals. For converting audio signals, see "About digital signal audio output" (vpage 49) Bitstream : For selecting when the device connected to the unit supports Dolby TrueHD/Dolby Digital Plus/Dolby Digital or DTS-HD/DTS Digital Surround. The output format is automatically selected according to the audio format or the number of channels supported by the connected HDMI device. PCM : For selecting when a device connected to the unit does not support Dolby TrueHD/Dolby Digital Plus/Dolby Digital or DTS-HD/DTS Digital Surround. Off : For outputting no audio signal from the HDMI output terminal of the unit. For converting audio signals, see "Digital Audio Signal Output" (vpage 49) NOTE If "BD audio mode" is set to "HD Audio Output" with the MODE button on the remote control, BD secondary audio and interactive audio are not output. Setting items Setting details DRC Compresses the dynamic range of Dolby TruHD/Dolby Digital Plus/Dolby Digital Audio. Off : Dynamic range is not compressed. On : Dynamic range is compressed. Auto : Dynamic range of Dolby TrueHD audio is automatically compressed according to the material. Audio of Dolby TrueHD only is compressed. This setting compensates high volume to low and low volume to high when high volume is not desired at night. Down Sampling For selecting the sampling rate output from the digital audio output terminal. Refer to the operation manual for the device connected to the unit, and make settings depending on the connected device. 48 kHz 96 kHz 192 kHz NOTE • For rights-protected content, the audio signal is down-sampled to 48kHz, 16bits, and output. • If the connected device does not support the sampling rate of 96kHz or 192kHz and the settings for the unit is made as 96kHz or 192kHz, much noise may be generated from the connected device. 38 Remote control operation buttons Displaying the menu Cancel the menu Move the cursor (Up/Down/Left/Right) Decision the setting Return to previous menu

Down Sampling
For selecting the sampling
rate output from the digital
audio output terminal.
Refer to the operation manual for the device connected to the unit, and
make settings depending on the connected device.
48 kHz
96 kHz
192 kHz
NOTE
For rights-protected content, the audio signal is down-sampled to 48kHz,
16bits, and output.
If the connected device does not support the sampling rate of 96kHz or
192kHz and the settings for the unit is made as 96kHz or 192kHz, much
noise may be generated from the connected device.
