18 Setting Surface Controls About the warming zone Use the warming zone -Fig. 1- to keep hot cooked foods warm such as; vegetables, gravies, casseroles, soups, stews, breads, pastries and oven-safe dinner plates. DO NOT heat cold food using the warming zone. Use only plates, cookware and utensils recommended for oven and ceramic cooktop use. Do not use plastic wrap or aluminum foil to cover foods. Plastic or aluminum foil may melt onto the ceramic cooktop. Fig. 1 The warming zone will not glow red when it becomes hot, but becomes hot enough to cause burns. Avoid placing hands on or near the warming zone until the warming zone Hot Surface indicator light is OFF. Use the warming zone
