It prints a check pattern that your printer then reads to see if you have any clogged nozzles, which it then cleans, if necessary. 1. Load a few sheets of plain paper in the sheet feeder (see page 6). 2. Do one of the following: Windows: Right-click the icon in the bottom right corner of your screen (the taskbar) and select Auto Head Cleaning. Mac OS X: Open the Applications folder, open the EPSON Printer Utility3, select SP R2880, and click OK. Then select Auto Nozzle Check and Cleaning. 36 Maintaining Your Printer

Checking and Cleaning the Print Head
You can check and clean the print head nozzles automatically using the Auto
Nozzle Check and Cleaning utility in your printer software. It prints a check
pattern that your printer then reads to see if you have any clogged nozzles, which it
then cleans, if necessary.
