Power supply The printer does not work and control panel lights are off. Check that the power cord is properly plugged into the electrical outlet. Check that the side of the power switch with the vertical bar ( I) is pressed down to turn on the printer. If the electrical outlet is controlled by an outside switch or automatic timer, use a different outlet. Plug another electrical device into the outlet to determine whether it is working. The lights come on briefly but then go off and stay off. Check that the printer's voltage rating matches the voltage of your electrical outlet. If the voltages do not match, unplug the printer and contact your dealer immediately. Do not reconnect the power cord to an electrical outlet. Prin fing All lights flash but nothing prints. Contact your dealer. Printing stops and the Data and Pause lights flash. The paper is jammed inside the printer. Follow the steps on page 3-13. A carriage error has occurred. Turn off the printer.
