Converting your server to a rackmount server Removing and rotating the drives, drive bay adapters, and EMI shield To remove the drives, drive bay adapters, and EMI shield: 1 Lay the case on its side in the position it will be in when you mount it in the server cabinet. 2 Unplug the data and power cables from the back the drive. 3 Press the release latch on each side of the drive and pull the drive out. If you have difficulty pressing the latch on the side of the drive where the diskette drive is located, press the release latch on each side of the diskette drive and temporarily pull the drive part of the way out to make more work space. www.gateway.com 9

To remove the drives, drive bay adapters, and EMI shield:

Lay the case on its side in the position it will be in when you mount it
in the server cabinet.

Unplug the data and power cables from the back the drive.

Press the release latch on each side of the drive and pull the drive out. If
you have difficulty pressing the latch on the side of the drive where the
diskette drive is located, press the release latch on each side of the diskette
drive and temporarily pull the drive part of the way out to make more work
space.
