If tops of ears are above top of seat, child is too large for booster seat. If child is between 30 and 65 lbs (13.6 kg and 29.5 kg) and shoulders are below the upper harness slots, we highly recommend use of the built-in harness for as long as possible (up to 65 lbs(29.5 kg)). 16
