Installing the HP Ground Bonding Rack Option Kit In this section About this device...3 Installing the ground bonding rack option kit on HP 10000 G2 Series Racks 4 Installing the ground bonding rack option kit on HP 10000 Series Racks 13 About this device The HP Ground Bonding Rack Option Kit can be used to reduce the level of electromagnetic emissions outside the rack. These emissions are produced during normal operation of the electronic components within the rack. Typically, rack mounted equipment must meet class A emissions levels, but in some cases, it might be desirable to reduce these levels even further. The kit ties all the conductive structural components of the rack together with conductive cables and is then attached to a ground bonding point on the AC power distribution device of the rack or the building ground. Kit contents The items required for installation include: • 6-inch (15.24-cm) grounding straps (5) • 14.5-inch (36.83-cm) grounding straps (4) • 6-inch (15.24-cm) grounding straps (with a connector on one end) (6) • 14.5-inch (36.83-cm) grounding straps (with a connector on one end) (6) • M8 internal serrated lock washers (18) • M8 hex nuts (15) • M5.5 T-25 Torx screws (12) • M6 x 10-mm Torx screw (1) • M8 x 20-mm bolt (1) • M8 Belleville toothed washer (1) • M5 Belleville toothed washer (1) This kit might contain extra hardware for your convenience.
