TouchPad button board Description TouchPad button board (includes bracket and cables) Spare part number 813954-001 Before removing the TouchPad button board, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 30). 5. Remove the optical drive (see Optical drive on page 31), if installed. 6. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 37). To remove the TouchPad button board: 1. Disconnect the longer cable from the system board (1) and the shorter cable from the TouchPad (2). 2. Remove the two Phillips PM2.0×2.5 screws (3) that secure the TouchPad button board to the computer. 3. Pull the TouchPad button board toward the bottom of the computer (4), and then remove the TouchPad and cables (5).
