Known issues Third-party [INTERNAL] Issue (Internal): With an IPv6 port connection and Update Now selected from the Automatic Configuration drop-down menu on the Device Settings tab of the Printing Preferences, a printer communication error occurs. Description: With Windows XP, the default port monitor does not support IPv6 port addresses, but does work with the IPv4 port. Solution: For more information, contact the software vendor. Issue (Internal): With a USB connection and Update Now selected from the Automatic Configuration drop-down menu on the Device Settings tab of the Printing Preferences, a printer communication error occurs. Description: Bidirectional communication works over the USB port only when the printer installer is used to create an HP DOT4 port. A normal Add Printer (plug-and-play) installation does not install the HP DOT4 port, and Enterprise AutoConfiguration does not work with either the USB print port or with the Microsoft® DOT4 port. Solution: For more information, contact the software vendor.
