Using the action keys ● An action key performs an assigned function. ● The icon on each action key illustrates the function for that key. To use an action key: ▲ Press and hold the key. Icon Description Initiates a call or answers an incoming call. Declines an incoming call or ends the current call. Opens the calendar. Mutes the microphone. Mutes or restores speaker sound. Decreases speaker volume incrementally while you hold down the key. Increases speaker volume incrementally while you hold down the key. Switches the screen image among display devices connected to the system. For example, if a monitor is connected to the computer via the optional docking device, f4 (Windows 10) or f8 (Windows 7) alternates the screen image from computer display to monitor display to simultaneous display on both the computer and the monitor. Most external monitors receive video information on the computer using the external VGA video standard. The f4 (Windows 10) or f8 (Windows 7) action key can also alternate images among other devices that are receiving video information on the computer. Turns the keyboard backlight off or on. NOTE: To conserve battery power, turn off this feature. Decreases the screen brightness incrementally as long as you hold down the key. Increases the screen brightness incrementally as long as you hold down the key. Turns the wireless feature on or off. NOTE: A wireless network must be set up before a wireless connection is possible. Using the action keys
An action key performs an assigned function.
The icon on each action key illustrates the function for that key.
To use an action key:
Press and hold the key.

Initiates a call or answers an incoming call.
Declines an incoming call or ends the current call.

Decreases speaker volume incrementally while you hold down the key.
