HP VISUALIZE fx6 Graphics Board Configuration and Troubleshooting Guide
Troubleshooting
The computer boots
in VGA mode, but the
screen goes blank or
is corrupted when
switching to high-
resolution mode
Solution
Explanation
Remove the HP VISUALIZE fx6 graphics
board, and then re-insert it. Ensure that
the board is properly inserted in the AGP
slot.
MaxiLife does not detect this error as it only checks the
VGA controller that is located on the PCI daughter board.
Check that your monitor supports the HP
VISUALIZE fx6 graphics board resolutions
and refresh rate selected. If the monitor
does not support the selected resolution,
boot in VGA and then change your
settings.
This problem may occur if you have just changed your
monitor.
If the texture module is not installed,
check that a terminator is present and
firmly connected.
The figure above shows the location of the terminator. To
check if the terminator is firmly connected, you may need
to remove the board’s strengthening bar, and then to
replace it. (You can use a Torx™ screwdriver or a flat-
blade screwdriver of the correct size.)
Run the diagnostics tool.
For more information on the diagnostics tool, see
Diagnostics Tool, on page 22.
Check that you are using the correct
video driver. The video driver version is
displayed in the About panel.
You may have updated the video driver using the HP
