Chapter 3 Installing LH 3r Components Reorienting the Control Panel The control panel must be repositioned so it is easily readable in the rack-mount position, as shown below in Figure 3-2. Before rotating the control panel, remove the lock pawl, located near the control panel. This is a small plastic part that engages the lock assembly in the bezel. NOTE There are two possible positions for the reinstallation of the control panel, depending in which rack the NetServer will reside. Refer to Figure 3-3 below. For HP Racks 1. Unhook the control panel from the face of the chassis, as shown in Figure 3-2. 2. Remove the lock pawl by squeezing the base until the lips disengage from the mounting slots, as shown in Figure 3-2. 3. Rotate the control panel until it is aligned with the rack position of the NetServer, as shown in Figure 3-3. 4. Refer to Figure 3-3. Mount the control panel in the set of slots on the right. The other set of slots on the left are used for mounting the control panel in a configuration for the Compaq rack. 5. Refer to Figure 3-4. Mount the control panel bezel over the control panel in the set of slots on the right. For Non-HP ( Compaq) Racks 1. Mount the control panel in the set of slots on the left. The other set of slots on the right are used for mounting the control panel in a configuration for HP racks. 14
