Chapter 3 Perform the Upgrade Install the Processor Board 1. Remove the processor board from the sealed bag. NOTE Do not change the jumper settings on the processor board. These settings are factory set. 2. Install the processor board in the slot from which you removed the terminator board. Gently, but firmly push the board into place. You must install one processor board for every terminator board that you removed. 3. Using a Phillips head screwdriver, secure the mounting screws in place. NOTE You are not required to use the HP Navigator CD-ROM to reconfigure your system after installing the new processor board. The system detects the additional processors automatically. However, we recommend that you use the HP Navigator CD-ROM to ensure that you have the latest drivers and information. Slide the Satellite Chassis Back Into Place 1. Replace the cover of the satellite chassis. 2. When you finish servicing the HP NetServer, move to the front of the server and unlatch all four power supplies. (If the front bezel is in place, remove it.) 3. At the rear, insert the satellite chassis. To do so, press the release latch on each slide as shown in Figure 3-8 and push the satellite chassis about one inch back onto the base. 15

Install the Processor Board
1.
Remove the processor board from the sealed bag.
NOTE
Do not change the jumper settings on the processor board.

Install the processor board in the slot from which you removed the
terminator board. Gently, but firmly push the board into place.

Slide the Satellite Chassis Back Into Place
1.
Replace the cover of the satellite chassis.
2.
When you finish servicing the HP NetServer, move to the front of the
server and unlatch all four power supplies. (If the front bezel is in place,
remove it.)
3.
At the rear, insert the satellite chassis. To do so, press the release latch on
each slide as shown in Figure 3-8 and push the satellite chassis about one
inch back onto the base.
