Summary of changes to the Operator Control Panel (OCP) Please refer to the relevant Tape Library user and service guide for detailed information about using the Operator Control Panel. There are changes on the following screens and menu sequences for the Fibre Channel version of this tape library: MSL4048 • Drive Configuration screen • Drive Status screen • Drive Identity screen • Library Identity screen MSL2024 • Drive Configuration menu sequence • Drive Status menu sequence • Library Status menu sequence Configuring drive information MSL4048: Configuration > Drive Configuration MSL2024: Home > Configuration > Change Drive (1/2) This screen allows you to configure the FC ports for each drive in your tape library. It is important to configure these correctly before you start to use the tape library. Each drive has two ports, A and B. NOTE: HP recommends that you cable Port A only and that you configure Port B for Auto Detect on Fibre Speed and Port Type. For Port A: • Select Fibre Speed: Auto Detect, 1 Gb or 2 Gb • Select Port Type: Fabric (N) if connecting to a fibre switch, or Loop (NL) if connecting directly to an HBA or fibre hub. • If you select Loop (NL), you must also set the Loop Mode: Soft, Hard or Hard Auto-Select • If you select Hard, you must also set the ALPA address. For Port B: • Select Fibre Speed: Auto Detect • Select Port Type: Auto Detect Viewing drive status information • MSL4048: Info > Status > Drive This screen displays the status of the selected drive. It shows the drive status, source slot, tape barcode, error code (if appropriate), drive temperature, status of cooling fan and drive activity. • MSL2024: Home > Status/Information > Drive 1/2 Information This screen displays the serial number, drive type, firmware revision and error log for the selected drive. Additional Fibre Channel drive information: • The link status of each port may be: No Light, Logged In, Logged Out, ALPA Conflict or Negotiation Link. This screen allows you to configure the FC ports for each drive in your tape library. It is important to

This screen displays the status of the selected drive. It shows the drive status, source slot, tape barcode,
error code (if appropriate), drive temperature, status of cooling fan and drive activity.
MSL2024:
Home > Status/Information > Drive 1/2 Information
This screen displays the serial number, drive type, firmware revision and error log for the selected
drive.
Additional Fibre Channel drive information:
The link status of each port may be: No Light, Logged In, Logged Out, ALPA Conflict or Negotiation
