Chapter 7 Tools and Utilities Making an MTC Diskette Some tools require an MTC diskette. You can create this diskette at any computer that contains a floppy drive and CD-ROM drive. To create an MTC diskette: Step 1 2 3 4 Action From any computer, insert an MS-DOS bootable diskette in the floppy drive. Insert the CD into the CD-ROM drive. Copy contents of the \MTCUTILS directory onto the diskette. Label the diskette with the revision number that is stamped on the CD. Notes You can use Windows NT Explorer or an equivalent file management tool. The \MTCUTILS directory is located on the CD-ROM drive. MTCLOG Utility The MTCLOG Utility is an application that displays server events as they are being logged. This utility is useful when you are actively monitoring a server. To start MTCLOG, either: • Select the Endurance Manager Tools Endurance Event Utility. • (Local only) On an IOP or CE, open either the Endurance Console window or an MS-DOS window and type mtclog at the prompt. 194

Making an MTC Diskette
Some tools require an MTC diskette. You can create this diskette at any computer that contains
a floppy drive and CD-ROM drive. To create an MTC diskette:
MTCLOG Utility
The MTCLOG Utility is an application that displays server events as they are being logged. This
utility is useful when you are actively monitoring a server.
To start MTCLOG, either:
