Chapter 4 Endurance Manager Table 4-1 Endurance Manager Main Window Contents (Continued) Window Item Last Mirror Copy Status Window Message Area Description Displays information about the mirror copy status for your server (page 58). You can control how this window is displayed using both: • View Mirror Copy • Tools Options, Display Last Mirror Copy Status in a separate window option (page 65) When you single click on a server component, this area temporarily displays messages or descriptive information about the selected component. Refer to Chapter 18 in HP NetServer AA Solution Messages for information about messages displayed in the Message Area. Administration Window The Administration window is located in the Endurance Manager main window (Figure 4-1). It provides a graphical representation of the server. You can use this Endurance Manager feature to: • View current status information about your server and its components. • Access commands for a specific server component. • Determine which IOP is providing server status information to the Endurance Manager. • Identify the types of devices that are redirected and available to the CE operating system. • Determine whether a keyboard and pointer is redirected or available locally at the IOP. On the Administration Window: • CEs and IOPs are positioned in a fixed location in the Administration window (regardless of how your server is physically configured). Figure 4-1 shows the location of server components in the Endurance Manager window. • The number of Ethernet connections and SCSI devices that are available to the CE are displayed. • On each IOP, if any floppy disks, tape drives, or serial ports are redirected to the CE, the Administration window displays one icon for each device type (regardless of how many of those devices are redirected). For example, if multiple CD-ROMs on an IOP are redirected to the CE, only one CD-ROM icon is displayed in the Administration window. That icon displays the status of the CD-ROM with the least desirable state. 50
