Shut down the computer. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 42), and then remove the following components: a. Service door (see Service door on page 43) b. Memory module (see Memory module on page 45) c. WLAN module (see WLAN module on page 47) d. Optical drive (see Optical drive on page 49) e. Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 55) Remove the top cover: 1. Remove the five Phillips M2.5×3.0 screws that secure the top cover to the base enclosure. Component replacement procedures 59
