Electrostatic discharge information A sudden discharge of static electricity from your finger or other conductor can destroy static-sensitive devices or microcircuitry. Often the spark is neither felt nor heard, but damage occurs. Remove the access panel: ▲ Loosen the thumbscrew on the rear of the computer (1), slide the panel backward (2), and lift if off the computer. 2. Disconnect the 2.5 inch hard drive data cable (2) and 2.5 inch hard drive power cable (3) from the 2.5 inch hard drive. 3. Remove the slotted Torx15 screw (1) that secures the optical drive cage to the primary drive cage. 4. 9. Slide the 3.5 inch primary hard drive (2) toward the open end of the 3.5 inch primary hard drive drive cage, and then remove the 3.5 inch primary hard drive. 10. UDIMM memory module The memory sockets on the system board are populated with at least one preinstalled memory module. To achieve the maximum memory support, you can populate the system board with up to 64 GB of memory configured in a high-performing dual-channel mode. 2. To install a memory module, open both latches of the memory module socket (1), and insert the memory module into the socket (2). Press the module down into the socket so that the module is fully inserted and properly seated. Be sure that the latches are in the closed position (3). To remove an expansion card: 1. Remove the Phillips screw (1) that secures the expansion card bracket to the expansion card. 2. Release the expansion card bracket (2) from the expansion card. 3. IMPORTANT: The bond between the heat sink and the processor can be very tight. If the computer will turn on, before removing the heat sink, turn on the computer until it warms the heat sink.
