Compaq ProLiant 8500 Servers I/O Module Upgrade Guide 9 Updating the System Partition The System Partition must be updated with the System Dispatcher and Compaq Server Diagnostics utilities. To update the System Partition: 1. Insert the SmartStart for Servers 5.0 CD into the server. 2. Boot the server. 3. After the system is restarted, click the Update the System Partition icon from the screen to update the System Dispatcher and Compaq Server Diagnostics utilities. After the System Partition is updated, the server will reboot. 4. Remove the SmartStart for Servers CD during the reboot. Updating the Compaq Insight Manager Console The Compaq Insight Manager Console must be updated. To do the update perform the following: 1. Insert the Compaq Management 5.0 CD on any Management Console machine. 2. Follow the screen instructions to perform the update. 3. Remove the Compaq Management 5.0 CD. Updating the System Partition
The System Partition must be updated with the System Dispatcher and
Compaq Server Diagnostics utilities. To update the System Partition:
1. Insert the SmartStart for Servers 5.0 CD into the server.
2. Boot the server.
3. After the system is restarted, click the
Update the System Partition
icon from the screen to update the System Dispatcher and Compaq
Server Diagnostics utilities. After the System Partition is updated, the
server will reboot.
4. Remove the SmartStart for Servers CD during the reboot.
Updating the Compaq Insight Manager
Console
The Compaq Insight Manager Console must be updated. To do the update
perform the following:
1. Insert the Compaq Management 5.0 CD on any Management Console
machine.
2. Follow the screen instructions to perform the update.
3. Remove the Compaq Management 5.0 CD.
