TouchPad, Remove the TouchPad

TouchPad Description TouchPad TouchPad cable Spare part number 806516-001 841262-001 Before removing the TouchPad, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 21). 5. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 22). Remove the TouchPad: 1. Disconnect the TouchPad cable from the system board (1). 2. Remove the five Phillips PM2.0×2.0 screws (2) that secure the TouchPad to the computer. 3. Remove the Mylar tape (3) from under the cable. 4. Remove the TouchPad (4). Reverse this procedure to install the TouchPad. 36 Chapter 5 Removal and replacement procedures

Before removing the TouchPad, follow these steps:
