Upgrading NVSRAM Settings and Controller Firmware If you are.... You will have to.... Installing a new Storage Array on a Windows 2000 host. Upgrade the Storage Array controller with Windows 2000 NVSRAM settings. A new Storage Array is shipped with Windows NT NVSRAM settings, which are incompatible with Windows 2000. The controller firmware (4.00.02) is common to both NT and 2000, so it does not have to be upgraded. Adding a new Storage Array to a system that includes a Storage Array currently being managed using SM60-NT. The new array uses firmware 4.00.02, which is incompatible with SM60-NT. Upgrade the controller firmware on any existing Storage Arrays to version 4.00.02, and upgrade the NVSRAM settings to the appropriate version (NT or 2000). Upgrading your operating system from Windows NT 4.0 to Windows 2000. This requires you to upgrade from SM60-NT to SM60.
