Removal and Replace Procedures Removing and Installing the Diffuser Card Step 2. Remove the side cover. The Side Cover protects the side service bay. The power to the server does not have to be off to remove the side cover. However, operation of the server without the side cover in place can make it susceptible to cooling and EMI problems. Loosen the captive T-15 screws that hold the side cover in place, then grasp the strap handle and pull the cover away from the server. Figure 2-6 shows the side cover with captive screw locations. Remove the side cover.
The Side Cover protects the side service bay. The power to the server does not have to be off to
remove the side cover. However, operation of the server without the side cover in place can make it

Loosen the captive T-15 screws that hold the side cover in place, then grasp the strap handle and
pull the cover away from the server.
