Removing the side cover To remove the side cover of the computer, complete the following steps: 1. Read the safety information that begins on page v and "Installation guidelines" on page 29. 2. Turn off the computer and all attached devices (see "Turning off the computer" on page 18); then, disconnect all power cords and external cables. 3. Unlock the side cover. 4. Press down on the cover-release handle; then, pull the cover straight up. Lift the side cover off the computer and set it aside. Cover-release handle Attention: For proper cooling and airflow, replace the cover before turning on the computer. Operating the computer with the cover removed might damage computer components. To
remove
the
side
cover
of
the
computer,
complete
the
following
steps:
1.
Read
the
safety
information
that
begins
on
page
v
and
“Installation
guidelines”
on
page
29.
2.
Turn
off
the
computer
and
all
attached
devices
(see
“Turning
off
the
computer”
on
page
18);
then,
disconnect
all
power
cords
and
external
cables.
3.
Unlock
the
side
cover.
4.
Press
down
on
the
cover-release
handle;
then,
pull
the
cover
straight
up.
Lift
the
side
cover
off
the
computer
and

it
aside.
