11.3 Non-Data Commands These commands are: Check Power Mode Execute Device Diagnostic Format Unit Idle Idle Immediate Initialize Device Parameters Read Native Max LBA/CYL Read Verify Sectors Recalibrate Security Erase Prepare Security Freeze Lock Seek Set Features Set Max LBA/CYL Set Multiple Mode Sleep SMART Disable Operations SMART Enable/Disable Attribute Autosave SMART Enable Operations | SMART Execute Off-line Immediate SMART Return Status SMART Save Attribute Values Standby Standby Immediate Execution of these commands involves no data transfer. 1. The host writes any required parameters to the Features, Sector Count, Sector Number, Cylinder, and Device/Head Registers. 2. The host writes the command code to the Command Register. 3. The device sets BSY=1. 4. When the device has finished processing the command, it sets BSY=0, and interrupts the host. 5. In response to the interrupt, the host reads the Status Register. 6.
