3 BASIC OPERATION Turning ON the transceiver NOTE: Before using the transceiver for the first time, the battery pack must be fully charged for optimum life and operation. See "BATTERY CHARGING." (p. 5-1) zz Rotate [VOL] to turn ON the transceiver. [VOL] Selecting a channel DDSelecting an operating channel zz Rotate [Rotary Selector] to select an operating channel. Depending on the presetting, when the transceiver is turned ON, a scan automatically starts. The scan stops when a call is received. NOTE: When the Power SW ON function is turned ON, the Priority A channel is selected each time the transceiver is turned ON. In this case, the transceiver does not start scanning when it is turned ON. LLTo turn ON the Power SW ON function, set the following setting to "Enable" using the programming software.
